1. Who we are

NourrishAfrica is operated by Agbede Treasure Ademola, an Individual Sole Proprietor based in Nigeria, trading as NourrishAfrica ("we", "us", "our"). Agbede Treasure Ademola is the legal seller and the Data Controller responsible for personal data collected through the NourrishAfrica website and apps at nourrishafrica.space.

You can contact us at support@nourrishafrica.space for privacy matters, or hello@nourrishafrica.space for general enquiries.

2. Data we collect

We collect only the data needed to operate NourrishAfrica:

  • Name — as provided in your profile.
  • Email address — used to create and secure your account.
  • Password — stored in encrypted (hashed) form; we never see your plain password.
  • Food logs — the meals, portions and times you log.
  • Meal history — generated meal plans and past selections.
  • Progress data — weight, hydration, streaks, badges and goals.
  • AI interactions — messages, photos and prompts you send to Nouri AI.
  • Subscription information — plan, status, renewal date and entitlements (Paddle stores the payment details themselves).
  • Device information — device type, operating system, browser and app version.
  • Analytics — usage events, pages viewed, feature interactions, coarse location and IP address for security.
  • Cookies — see our Cookie Policy.

3. Legal bases for processing

We process your personal data on the following legal bases:

  • Contract Performance — to create your account, deliver the service, generate meal plans, run Nouri AI features and manage your subscription.
  • Consent — for optional cookies, marketing communications and any processing that requires it. You can withdraw consent at any time.
  • Legitimate Interests — to keep NourrishAfrica secure, prevent fraud and abuse, improve accuracy of our verified food database, and understand how the product is used.
  • Legal Obligations — to comply with tax, accounting, consumer-protection and other applicable laws.

4. How AI data is processed

Nouri AI processes your queries, food photos, meal-log context and profile preferences to generate responses, meal plans, food identifications and insights. AI requests are sent to our AI providers (including Google Gemini and OpenAI) acting as processors on our instructions and bound by confidentiality obligations.

We do not sell your data and we do not use your private logs or messages to train third-party foundation models. When Nouri suggests a new food that is not yet in our verified database, only the food description (name, region, estimated macros) is queued for admin review — never your personal information.

5. Payments — Merchant of Record

Paddle.com Market Limited is the Merchant of Record for all purchases made through NourrishAfrica.

Paddle acts as the authorised reseller of our digital services and is responsible for:

  • Processing secure payments
  • Collecting applicable taxes
  • Issuing invoices
  • Processing eligible refunds
  • Payment compliance
  • Payment-related customer support where applicable

Customers may see Paddle or Paddle.net on their payment statement.

NourrishAfrica never stores payment card information. Card details, billing address, tax identifiers and payment-method data are collected and stored by Paddle, not by us. We receive only limited transaction metadata (plan, status, renewal date, country) to activate your entitlements. Paddle's privacy notice is available at paddle.com/legal/privacy.

6. Sharing your data

We share personal data with the following categories of recipients:

  • Paddle.com Market Limited — our Merchant of Record for billing, tax, invoicing, fraud-prevention and refund handling.
  • Infrastructure providers — cloud hosting, database, authentication, email delivery, error monitoring and analytics tools that help us run the service.
  • AI providers — used to generate Nouri responses on our instructions.
  • Professional advisers — legal, accounting and tax advisers where required.
  • Authorities — where we are legally required to disclose data.

7. Cookies

We use strictly necessary cookies for authentication and preference storage, plus optional analytics cookies with your consent. See our Cookie Policy for the full list and how to manage them.

8. Data retention

We retain personal data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account we purge your personal data within 30 days, except where we are legally required to retain limited records (typically tax and financial records for up to 7 years). Anonymised or aggregated statistics may be kept indefinitely.

9. Security

Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Passwords are hashed. Access to production systems is limited to authorised personnel, protected by strong authentication and audited. We keep our platform, dependencies and infrastructure patched against known vulnerabilities.

10. International transfers

Some of our providers are located outside Nigeria (including in the EEA, UK and United States). Where personal data is transferred internationally, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent adequacy mechanisms.

11. Your rights

  • Access, export or correct your data from your profile page.
  • Request deletion of your account and associated personal data.
  • Object to processing, restrict processing, or request data portability.
  • Withdraw consent at any time (for consent-based processing).
  • Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

We aim to respond to rights requests within one month. To exercise any right, email support@nourrishafrica.space.

12. Children's privacy

NourrishAfrica is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

13. Deleting your account

You can delete your account at any time from the Profile page, or by emailing support@nourrishafrica.space. Deletion removes your profile, logs, meal history, progress data and AI conversations within 30 days, subject to the retention exceptions in section 8.
